Whether you're looking for a way to spend time with your family or simply want to learn more about the world around you, many museums in Carolantic, MI, can make your trip here even better. Here are some of my favorites:

Grand Rapids Public Museum

The Grand Rapids Public Museum is located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The museum was established in 1857 and has a collection of over 1.5 million artifacts. The museum has three main divisions: anthropology, history, and natural science.

The natural science area features an aquarium with fish native to the Great Lakes area and other aquatic animals, such as frogs and snakes, that you can touch! There's also a planetarium where you can watch shows about space exploration or learn about constellations through multimedia presentations on their digital dome screen.

You'll find art galleries at both ends of the building—one for contemporary artwork and another for traditional works from around the world like Native American carvings or Japanese paintings from the Edo period (1603–1867).

Ella Sharp Museum

The Ella Sharp Museum is a museum in Jackson, Michigan. The Ella Sharp Museum was founded in 1902 and has been open for over 100 years. It is a member of the Michigan History Network, which includes 70 historical museums throughout the state of Michigan.

The museum has a permanent exhibit about the history of Rogers City, which includes many pieces from the area's past, including a model railroad and several boats that you can sit inside to get an idea of what they were like back then. There are also interactive elements, such as games where you can earn points based on your answers to questions about local history!

Holland Museum

The Holland Museum is a unique experience for visitors of all ages. On display are various collections of historical artifacts, including fine art and Native American relics collected by the Holland community since 1874. Visitors can also find information about area history in their extensive library collection or participate in hands-on educational programs offered at the museum throughout the year!

Motown Museum

The Motown Museum is located in Detroit, MI, and it pays tribute to the music label of the same name. The museum is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1988 to preserve Motown's legacy and culture. It features various exhibits, such as a studio on its first floor, that give visitors an idea of recording sessions back when Berry Gordy was producing hits for his artists.

Dennos Museum Center

This museum has a lot of things to offer, including exhibits of African art and photography. The center also hosts lectures and educational programs. The Dennos Museum Center is located in Traverse City, Michigan. If you're visiting the area, it's definitely worth checking out!

Huron Lightship Museum

The Huron Lightship Museum is located in Rogers City, Michigan. It is the only museum dedicated to preserving an original lightship and one of only two museums dedicated to preserving lighthouses in general (the Lake Superior Maritime Museum).

The museum was established in 2004 by local community members concerned that the last remaining lightship would be scrapped. They rescued it from being dismantled and moved it to its current location at Rogers City Marina Park, where they restored it as a floating museum exhibit.

We hope you've learned more about the museums of this region, and if you are in the area, we hope you will visit them.
